Creating long-term change through support, community and opportunity

Who we are

Gulaay Ltd is an Aboriginal-owned non-profit, based on Wiradjuri Country in Wagga Wagga. As a growing social enterprise, we exist to create real opportunities for people facing social and economic disadvantage. We work closely with Aboriginal communities, young people, service providers, government and local organisations to ensure our work reflects real needs and local strengths.

Our name, Gulaay means “crossing-place” in Wiradjuri language. It reflects our purpose: helping people see their potential and supporting them to take confident steps toward opportunity.

At Gulaay, we build resilience and practical skills through a social and emotional wellbeing approach. With tailored support and strong relationships, we help people gain confidence and take meaningful steps toward independence and employment.

What we do

We currently offer services such as mentoring, carer assessments and employment support, with a strong focus on supporting Aboriginal people aged 9 to 24 in Wagga Wagga and surrounding areas. While our work is grounded in Aboriginal values and community, we welcome people from all backgrounds who share our vision or wish to be part of the journey.

As a social enterprise, we reinvest income from our services back into community programs. Our leadership team brings over 30 years of combined experience in community services, program design, workforce development, cultural safety, Aboriginal engagement and capacity building.

We’re committed to expanding culturally safe, community-led solutions to challenges such as substance misuse, mental health, housing, transport, and service access.

Gulaay exists to create space, purpose, and practical pathways – especially for those ready to take the next step.
